G+D Reports Strong Growth In Sales & Earnings

G+D reported strong growth in sales and earnings in its consolidated results for fiscal 2007. The Company’s worldwide operations, with a workforce of nearly 9,000 employees, generated net sales of Euro 1.55 billion (US$2.38 billion). This represents an increase of approximately 20% compared with the previous year. All business units contributed to the Group’s outstanding performance around the world, and are all growing at a uniform rate. Earnings before interest and tax (EBIT) grew at a higher rate than sales, increasing by 73% to Euro 161 million (US$247 million). This pushed the EBIT margin up to 10.4%. Net income for the year amounted to Euro 96 million (US$147.3 million).

The growth is being driven by new opportunities from emerging markets and demand for a new generation of high-speed multimedia handsets. Total Available Market (TAM) is estimated from 1.9 billion in 2006 to 2.7 billion in 2007.

TietoEnator's Q1 net sales grew by 6% to US$728.8 (688.3) million which was in line with the market growth. The profitability of the underlying business improved from Q1 2007. Operating profit excluding one-off items rose by 15% and amounted to US$58.5 (51.1) million. One-off items were mainly attributable to the Performance Improvement Programme the company announced in October 2007.

Trusted Labs announced that it has developed a Common Criteria Protection Profile for open USIM Java cards designed to host third-party security-sensitive applications, in a joint effort with other companies including French mobile operators, Bouygues Telecom, Orange and SFR.
